Three Hours in Engelberg, Switzerland

I just got back from a trip to Switzerland. I was only there for a week but I saw and did a lot of things there.

It wasn’t a frenetic pace. I planned it out pretty well, even if I do say so myself. But because I did so much,  it’s hard to share my thoughts, stories and pictures about the oh-so-short time I  spent there,  in just one blog post.

So, I’m doing several posts about my trip to Switzerland last week. This is the third post. The first two were “Kayak Yodeloke” and “Yodeloke in Grindelwald, Switzerland”.  There will be more.

Engleberg, Switzerland

During the week I was in Switzerland, I did three all-day tours which took me two or three hours away from Zurich, to some of the most beautiful places in Switzerland and I did one short tour near the city, the Zurich Lindt Chocolate tour.

One of those longer tours was to Engelberg.

When we arrived, I found out that the tour I paid for didn’t include the cable car to the top of the mountain. It only got me to Engelberg, where it was recommended I visit the monastery and cheese factory.

My tour guide said I could just pay the difference and go up, if I really wanted to go up.

I thought about it,  but I wanted to explore the town too,  and I had been wanting to find a location to do a segment of a music video I have been wanting to do for a song I wrote a few months ago, called “Somewhere-a-carin’….. About You”.

So, the others went on up.

But I stayed behind, explored the town, took some pictures, ate a 10′” pizza all by myself,  and drank a cup of coffee very slooowly so I could just sit there and take in the beauty and serenity all around me in this quiet little fabulous mountain town.

Next,  I went searching for a spot to do the music video.

The song I wrote is called, “Somewhere-a-carin’….. About You”. It’s a song I wrote about rejection. The song is a sad song but don’t let it confuse you with how happy I am to be in Switzerland doing the music video.

I just like the song and I have been wanting to do a music video of it for a while now. I’m not professional. I’m doing this just for the joy of doing it. That’s what makes me a scanner. I like to learn, discover and create. These things make me happy.

So here is the clip. At a later date, I’ll use part of it, together with other clips to create the entire video and I will share that with you when it is finished.
