Caribbean Cruise: Day 7

March 27, 2020

Belize City, Belize – Day 7 (1/31)

The cruise ship had to anchor five miles off shore to avoid damage to the coral reef. This is what five miles looks like out at sea.

We boarded the tender boats to get to the dock at Belize City.

We got to Belize City at about 8 a.m.

Our excursion for the day was an airboat ride through the swamps.

As soon as we got to the city we were picked up and delivered to the place where we would get on the airboats and ride through the everglades to see all kinds of wildlife.

They said we might see some alligators, manatees, and a variety of birds.

Caribbean Cruise: Day 6

March 27, 2020

At Sea – Thurs. (1/30)

I woke up about 04:15 a.m. and tiptoed out to the balcony deck with my camera to capture yet another quiet moment in living color.

Went back to sleep until 0800 a.m. Then I got up and made a beeline for the “Tiger Cage” (the basketball cage) to get some “Air Time on the High Seas” (to play basketball).

After that, Uncle Walt and I had a late breakfast, got back to the room about Noon and went straight out to the balcony to just chill for a little while before we started a full-blown exploration of the ship. We hadn’t done that yet.

Sunrise as we headed for Grand Cayman.

A couple hours later, we arrived and dropped anchor alongside other cruise ships which had already arrived. It was such a beautiful day.

Caribbean Cruise: Day 4

Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Day 4 (1/28)

Sometimes Uncle Walt and I would do the same excursion but sometimes we would do different excursions, separately.

In Jamaica, he wanted to go to “Turtle River Falls and Gardens”……..

……where he fit right in.

He likes to talk and Parrots like to talk. 😂

So a few expressions come to mind as I’m trying to pull a joke out here…..

……bird-brained, talking heads, parrot head, Uncle want a cracker?…..

…….Come on! Help me out here!

Caribbean Cruise: Day 3

March 23, 2020

At Sea – Mon. 1/27

There were so many fun things to do, every hour of the day, while we were at sea, but we weren’t inclined to do any of them.

Although, if I go on a cruise again (and I probably will), I will be inclined to do a few more things than I did this time. Since it was my first cruise, I was more like an observor, just getting a feel for the whole experience.

This morning, “Eager Me”was going to get up early and go play basketball but “Bad Me” decided to sleep in.

I slept in until about 8 a.m.

I went out to the balcony to check the weather (which became a morning ritual for me). This is what I saw.

The sea was so calm and the clouds were just hanging there, like a “Real-life Painting”.

The beauty of the clouds and sea reminded me of this beautiful song by Lizz that she wrote together with Maia Sharp. The song is on Lizz’s CD titled, “Freedom and Surrender”.

Click on “Real-life Painting” (above) to hear the song and then click on “Freedom and Surrender” to get a glimpse into the beauty of Lizz’s soul and the depth of her character.
